Why you should choose Tenerife

The island Tenerife is ideal place to visit at any time of the year. On the largest island in the archipelago of the Canary Islands - the most southern region of Europe, you can find eternal spring with an average temperature of 25 ° C. Volcanic origin Tenerife offers a great variety of landscapes: the highest peak in Spanish territory (volcano the Teide with a height of 3,718 meters above the sea level, recognized as a World Heritage object by UNESCO next to the Teide National Park) , the magical laurel forests of the Anaga massif, the historic cities of La Laguna, La Orotava, Garachico and Icod in the green north of the island and the sunny coasts in its southern part with its beaches, tourist areas and sea sport activities in the towns Los Cristianos, Playa de Las Américas, Los Gigantes and El Médano. In Tenerife, where you can sunbathe all year round, you can enjoy the Atlantic Ocean, with a water temperature ranging from 20 ° C (in Winter) to 29 ° C (in Summer), on its natural sandy volcanic black and gold beaches and, in addition, from the sandy beach originally from the Sahara desert, known as Las Teresitas.

The Teide National Park is located above 2,000 meters above the sea level, above the clouds, and this territory is a result of thousands of years of volcanic activity with lava flows. It is a unique place in the world, where you can find very rare plant red tajinaste.

The island has many microclimates and varied landscapes with hundreds of hiking trails, most of them are in the green part of the north of the island, in which the Orotava Valley stands out especially. Nearby, you can visit its botanical gardens and Loro Parque (one of the most respected zoological institutions in the world). For nature lovers, the Anaga laurel forest is remarkable, frequently covered with fog. And the southern part, with a lot of sun and heat, where the most important tourist areas of Tenerife are and where its visitors can do a multitude of sports and entertainment activities. The tourism industry offers many of these activities both at sea and on land: various forms of diving, trips to the sea by yacht or other types of boats to search and see dolphins and whales, opportunity to enjoy the views of the island from the air by paragliding or helicopter, a wide variety of beaches, visiting flamenco shows and Canarian folklore, zoos and water parks and much, much more. Also, from the south coast you can enjoy spectacular views of the neighbour island La Gomera.

Apart from the island’s fabulous beaches, mountains and forests,… Tenerife offers different towns and cities as examples of typical Canarian architecture: La Laguna (historical capital, also considered a UNESCO World Heritage object, with interesting museums and monuments) , the Candelaria basilica (the most important place for Christians in the Canary Islands and an annual pilgrimage destination), Santa Cruz de Tenerife (contemporary city and the capital, also the cultural, commercial, political and financial heart of the island), La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz (tourist towns of the north of the island).

Gastronomy fans have many options to enjoy it: Canarian wine cellars where they can try their most recognized authentic wines, originating in one of the most fertile lands of the world, sauces such as mojo picón, a wide variety of domestic cheeses and products made with cheese, hamon, fresh fish, honey from the National park or Canarian palm tree sap, tropical fruits such as Canarian banana, cactus fruit or fig, papayas, avocados, … each product originating here in the Canarian farms has its particular flavour.

Subtropical climate, warm water, delicious food, friendly people, spectacular landscapes, … in one of the most visited and best valued islands in the world. There are thousands of reasons why you should visit Tenerife. Come and get your own experience and discover for yourself why you will want to come back here soon.
